PUSA – The annual Ihya’ Ramadan programme for the N29 Beting Maro constituency continued this week at Darul Ulum Mosque in Kampung Kalok, Pusa, bringing together residents in a spirit of unity and devotion.
The event, held during the holy month of Ramadan, aims to strengthen religious appreciation while fostering closer ties among the local community. It has become a key fixture in the area, encouraging collective worship and shared values.
The gathering was attended by Dato Razaili Gapor, State Assemblyman for Beting Maro, who joined residents in breaking fast on Thursday evening. He emphasised the importance of such initiatives in nurturing solidarity and reinforcing community bonds.
“The month of Ramadan is the best opportunity for us to increase our good deeds to reap manifold rewards. Take this opportunity to increase our worship, including enriching the mosque with tadarus and khatam al-Quran,” he said.
In addition to his remarks, Dato Razaili presented contributions to the Mosque and Imam Management Committee (JKP) as well as to participants of the Tadarus Al-Quran sessions. These gestures were seen as a way of supporting the mosque’s role as a centre of spiritual and communal life.
The programme also highlighted the role of local leaders in encouraging participation. Among those present were Hamdan Katang, Pusa District Officer; Rosli Uji, District Pemanca; and several village headmen, including Musa Zin of Spinang, Semarang and Batang Maro, and Zakaria Mos of Beladin. Their attendance underscored the collective commitment to sustaining traditions that unite the community.
Events such as Ihya’ Ramadan are not only religiously significant but also socially important, offering opportunities for residents to come together in prayer, reflection, and fellowship. They serve as platforms for reinforcing cultural values while promoting inclusivity and mutual respect.
Across Sarawak, similar programmes are being held to mark Ramadan, reflecting the broader effort to preserve religious practices and strengthen community ties. In Pusa, the continuation of Ihya’ Ramadan demonstrates how local initiatives can play a vital role in maintaining harmony and shared purpose.
The Darul Ulum Mosque has long been a focal point for worshippers in Kampung Kalok, and the programme further enhances its role as a hub for spiritual enrichment. With activities such as Quran recitation and communal prayers, the mosque continues to be a place where faith and fellowship converge.
As Ramadan progresses, the Ihya’ Ramadan programme in Beting Maro is expected to draw more participation, reinforcing its place as a cherished tradition that unites the community in devotion and goodwill.
