Kuching Waterfront to Celebrate Countdown 2026 with Music and Fireworks

KUCHING – The Kuching Waterfront is set to host one of Sarawak’s most anticipated New Year celebrations as Countdown 2026 promises a spectacular evening of music, dance, and fireworks on 31 December 2025. Visitors can look forward to a lively celebration featuring both local and national talent, capped with an exclusive international performance.

The event is structured into three exciting segments: pre-performance, official countdown, and post-performance, ensuring non-stop entertainment throughout the night.

The pre-performance segment will showcase Sarawak’s vibrant local talent. Guests will be greeted with performances from the Sarawak Local Band, traditional Sarawak ethnic dances, and creative dance presentations. Music enthusiasts will enjoy performances from popular local singers, including Gabriel Mawat, Ng Chien Chien, Meera Zada, Carrie Geres, Razali Sa’at, and Jolly Jengan. Bands such as Meruked and Agura will also take the stage, delivering a mix of contemporary and traditional tunes to energize the crowd.

The official segment is expected to draw the biggest crowd, featuring renowned Malaysian artists including KRU, Dayang Nurfaizah, and the duo Jatt Ali & Naqiu. The highlight of this segment is the musical fireworks display at midnight, signaling the start of 2026 with dazzling lights and sound that will captivate visitors along the waterfront.

Following the midnight celebrations, the post-performance segment will feature an exclusive concert by internationally acclaimed artist Judika. His energetic performance is expected to keep the crowd entertained late into the night, ensuring Countdown 2026 ends on a high note.

Organisers have extended an open invitation to the public to join this grand celebration, which is poised to become one of the biggest and most vibrant New Year events in Sarawak. Families, friends, and music lovers alike are encouraged to participate in the festive atmosphere and ring in 2026 at Kuching Waterfront.

Countdown 2026 is shaping up to be a memorable night, blending local culture with popular music and spectacular visual displays, creating the perfect start to the New Year.
