BAU – Police officers from the Bau Police Station carried out crime prevention patrols and security monitoring across several areas of the district on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
The patrols covered Bau Town, Tasik Biru, Taiton, Jambusan, and nearby villages, ensuring that public safety and order were maintained throughout the day.
Authorities reported that the situation remained calm and under control during the operation. The patrols were part of ongoing efforts to deter criminal activity and reassure the community of the police’s presence in key areas.
In addition to crime prevention duties, officers also took enforcement action against traffic offenders. Two Pol.170A summonses were issued to motorists who parked their vehicles less than 30 feet from a corner, a violation that can obstruct visibility and compromise road safety.
Police explained that such measures are necessary to ensure smooth traffic flow and reduce the risk of accidents.
The Bau Police Station emphasised that regular patrols and monitoring will continue as part of their commitment to safeguarding the district.
These operations are designed not only to prevent crime but also to strengthen public confidence in law enforcement.
Community cooperation remains a vital element in maintaining safety. Police have encouraged residents to comply with traffic regulations and provide information that may assist in preventing crime.
By working together, authorities and the public can ensure that Bau remains a safe and orderly district.
Local residents have expressed appreciation for the patrols, noting that visible police presence helps deter unlawful behaviour and promotes a sense of security.
The initiative also reflects broader efforts across Sarawak to enhance community policing and reinforce public order.
The Bau Police Station reaffirmed its dedication to protecting the community, stressing that patrols and enforcement actions will be intensified whenever necessary.
The message is clear: law enforcement will continue to act decisively to uphold safety and harmony in the district.
