ASAJAYA – Sarawak’s Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, joined the local community for Friday prayers at An-Najah Mosque on March 19.
The minister, who is also the Asajaya State Assemblyman (ADUN), was welcomed by Asajaya District Officer Jerry Zannuddin Bidin, along with community leaders and members of the mosque committee. The visit was part of ongoing efforts to stay connected with residents.
After the prayers, Abdul Karim spent time with worshippers, asking about their well-being and listening to updates on local issues. The interaction gave residents a chance to share their views directly.
He also took the opportunity to look at the condition of mosque facilities in the area. He stressed the importance of keeping places of worship well maintained, as they play a key role in bringing the community together and supporting spiritual life.
Residents appreciated the visit, saying it helped strengthen the relationship between leaders and the community. The gathering at the mosque created space for conversation and reinforced a sense of togetherness.
