KUCHING – North Kuching City Hall (DBKU) welcomed a delegation from Singkawang Waste Alert (SSS) in a working visit that underscored the importance of regional collaboration in waste management and environmental health.
The visit, held as part of a broader initiative to strengthen strategic cooperation between local authorities, was led by Mr Wan Hamdani Alqadrie, Head of SSS.
The delegation was received by Mr Rudzaimeir bin Malek, Deputy Director of DBKU’s Community Services Department, who highlighted the value of such exchanges in building stronger networks across neighbouring regions.
During the session, DBKU representatives provided the visitors with an overview of the council’s operations and strategies.
Mr Ambok Azhim from DBKU’s Public Relations Division presented a briefing on the council’s organisational framework, while Mr Dibasron bin Didi from the Environmental Health Division outlined DBKU’s solid waste management practices.
These presentations offered insights into DBKU’s approach to maintaining cleanliness and sustainability in urban areas.
The delegation also had the opportunity to engage with senior DBKU officials, including Mrs Norhayati Binti Bidin, Head of the Public Relations Division, Mr Mohamad Benyamin Bin Julaihi Khan, Head of the Landscape Division, and Mr Ramli Bin Omar Baki, Head of the Development and Community Services Division.
Their participation reflected DBKU’s commitment to transparency and knowledge-sharing in areas ranging from public engagement to urban development.
The exchange was seen as a step forward in fostering mutual understanding and cooperation between Sarawak and Singkawang.
