DPM Heads 42 Honoured in Sarawak State Awards

KUCHING – Forty-two individuals were conferred with Sarawak State Honours at a formal ceremony held at the Astana Negeri Sarawak in conjunction with the birthday of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri. The investiture was presided over by Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Leading the cohort was Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, who received the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang (D.A.), the highest rank in the Order of the Star of Hornbill Sarawak.

Also recognised were Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum, President of Parti Rakyat Sarawak, and Dato Richard Wee Liang Chiat, President of the Federation of Chinese Associations Sarawak (FCCS). They were each awarded the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (P.N.B.S.), which carries the title Dato Sri.

Five recipients, including four Sarawak deputy ministers, were accredited with the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang (P.G.B.K.), granting them the title Datuk.

Among them are Datuk Ibrahim Baki, Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, Datuk Majang Renggi, and Datu Ik Pahon Joyik.

Nine individuals were conferred the Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (D.J.B.S.), which carries the honorific Datu. Recipients include Adana Jed, Dr Cassidy Morris, Awang Mohamad Fadillah Awang Redzuan, Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, Richard Michael Abunawas, Sharifah Rohana Wan Alwi, Huong Siu Hung, Zainal Abidin Abdullah, and Joseph Blandoi.

Furthermore, twenty-two individuals earned the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (P.S.B.S.), with the title Dato. Among them were Datin Sri Angelina Celestine Ujang, Miro Simuh, Rolland Duat Jubin, Maro Razaili Gapor, Yusuf Abd Wahab, and Ahmad Hazlan Ismawi.

The ceremony was attended by senior state dignitaries, including the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari, his deputy, and other cabinet members. Also, present was Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, the consort of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri.

This year’s honours formed part of a broader list of over 1,300 recipients across various insignias, orders, and medals in celebration of the state leader’s 79th official birthday.
