KUCHING: Get ready for an exciting weekend as the Sarawak Open International Dragon & Lion Dance Cup 2024 takes center stage at Stadium Perpaduan, Kuching, on 26th and 27th October 2024. This thrilling event, organized by the Chinese Martial Art Association, promises a spectacular display of cultural performance, free for all to enjoy.

Chester Lim, the president of the association and organizing chairman, welcomes everyone to witness the vibrant competition. With the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts, the event will feature 45 teams from Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, and China.

The competition kicks off on 26th October with the Northern Lion Dance from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm. The High Pole Southern Lion Dance will follow from 1.00 pm to 4.30 pm, and the evening will end with the mesmerizing Luminous Dragon Dance at 6.45 pm.

On 27th October, the Traditional Southern Lion Dance teams will compete from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm, followed by the prize-giving ceremony and closing.
