KUCHING – The Project Development Division, working alongside the Restoration and Industrial Forestry Division, has organised the RP2 Allocation Application Workshop 2027 to strengthen the capacity of officers in handling federal development project applications.
The workshop, held on 11 March 2026, was designed to ensure participants are well-versed in applying for both new and extended allocations under the upcoming Rolling Plan 2 (RP2) of the 13th Malaysia Plan.
The emphasis was placed on compliance with current federal guidelines and the effective use of the MyProjek system, a centralised platform for monitoring and managing government projects.
The Implementation Coordination Unit (ICU) of the Prime Minister’s Department delivered a detailed briefing on the MyProjek Application Module.
Officers from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s Development Division provided additional technical support, offering practical insights into the system’s functions.
MyProjek is widely recognised as a key tool for project planning, monitoring, and evaluation, covering phases from pre-implementation to post-completion.
It also tracks allocation disbursement and contractor payments, ensuring transparency and accountability in project delivery.
Attendees included project management officers, division heads, and representatives from the Sabah Forestry Department, who joined the session virtually.
Their participation highlighted the importance of cross-state collaboration in strengthening project governance and ensuring consistency in federal development practices.
The RP2 framework, part of Malaysia’s broader development planning under the 13th Malaysia Plan, is intended to streamline project proposals and funding applications.
According to guidelines issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, RP2 applications must include detailed project briefs, value-at-entry assessments, and compliance with screening processes through MyProjek.
These measures are aimed at improving efficiency and ensuring that projects deliver measurable outcomes aligned with national priorities.
By hosting the workshop in Kuching, Sarawak’s agencies demonstrated their commitment to enhancing professional standards among officers responsible for project management.
The initiative reflects the state’s proactive approach to preparing for federal funding cycles, ensuring that applications are not only accurate but also strategically aligned with Malaysia’s long-term development goals.
Participants expressed that the training provided clarity on the technical aspects of project applications, particularly in navigating the MyProjek system.
With federal allocations playing a crucial role in infrastructure, forestry, and environmental projects, the workshop is expected to contribute to more effective planning and execution across Sarawak and beyond.
The RP2 Allocation Application Workshop 2027 represents a major milestone in preparing officers for the upcoming funding cycle, reinforcing the importance of compliance, transparency, and inter-agency cooperation in Malaysia’s development agenda.
