KUCHING – The Konsert Fenomena Samurai drew a vibrant crowd at Stadium Perpaduan Petra Jaya, with organisers reporting attendance levels that surpassed expectations.
The event, which targeted audiences aged 45 and above, showcased the enduring appeal of live performances among mature music enthusiasts.
Concert organiser Iqhram Zainuddin, widely known as Atom, expressed satisfaction with the turnout, noting that early estimates suggested more than 70 percent of the venue was filled.
He highlighted that the response from the intended demographic was particularly encouraging, with many attendees actively participating throughout the evening.
“Alhamdulillah, there were a lot of people. Our target market was those aged 45 and above, and based on what we saw tonight, the response exceeded 50 percent and may have reached more than 70 percent,” he told reporters after the show.
The atmosphere was described as lively from the outset, with concertgoers dancing and engaging enthusiastically with the performances.
Atom remarked that the energy of the audience contributed significantly to the overall success of the night, creating a memorable experience for both performers and spectators.
He also extended appreciation to the production team and artistes, acknowledging their commitment during three months of preparation.
According to Atom, their dedication ensured the smooth execution of the concert and helped deliver a polished performance that resonated with the audience.
Looking ahead, Atom revealed plans to expand the Fenomena Samurai concept beyond Kuching. He hinted at the possibility of touring performances, which may include collaborations with international artistes.
“In the future, InsyaAllah, we plan to do a Samurai tour, including in Kuching. There may also be surprises, with artistes from all over the world and international performers,” he said.
The concert forms part of Sarawak’s broader efforts to strengthen its live entertainment sector. Local authorities and organisers have increasingly sought to diversify cultural offerings, aiming to attract audiences across different age groups while positioning Kuching as a hub for music and creative events.
Industry observers note that concerts such as Fenomena Samurai contribute to Sarawak’s growing reputation as a destination for live entertainment.
By catering to varied demographics, organisers are helping to build a sustainable entertainment landscape that supports both local and international performers.
With the success of this latest event, expectations are high that future editions of Fenomena Samurai will continue to draw strong crowds and potentially elevate Sarawak’s profile on the global music stage.
