How the Theft Happened

According to initial police investigations, the victim had momentarily stepped out of his vehicle to collect tools from his shop. Unfortunately, he had left his car doors unlocked, providing an opportunity for the suspects.

CCTV footage later revealed that the culprits swiftly entered the vehicle and took valuables, including the large sum of cash.

Successful Recovery of Stolen Money

Following the arrests, authorities successfully recovered the stolen Australian banknotes. Police believe that the suspects may have been involved in similar cases and are conducting further investigations.

Legal Action Underway

The case is currently being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code, which deals with theft. If found guilty, the suspects could face imprisonment, fines, or both.

Sarawak police have reminded the public to remain vigilant and ensure their vehicles are locked at all times, even during short stops, to prevent such incidents.
