LUBOK ANTU – The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of the Lubok Antu District Police Headquarters (IPD) issued four summonses during a compliance operation carried out on 9 May.
The evening operation involved four members of the division and utilised several enforcement methods, including snap check patrols, accident prevention patrols, and the Weekend Op Lancar initiative. These measures were aimed at ensuring road users adhered to traffic laws and regulations.
During the operation, officers inspected 27 vehicles of various types and checked 31 individuals. The summonses were issued for different traffic offences identified during the checks.
Lubok Antu District Police Chief, DSP Pricha Azin, reminded motorists to comply with traffic rules at all times.
He stressed the importance of safe driving practices and urged road users to prioritise their own safety as well as that of others.
“Road users must always comply with laws and regulations, practise safe driving and prioritise safety to avoid unwanted incidents,” he said.
Authorities continue to highlight the role of compliance operations in reducing accidents and promoting responsible behaviour on the roads.
Such initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen enforcement and raise awareness among drivers in Sarawak.
The Lubok Antu operation reflects wider strategies by police across the state to monitor traffic conditions, deter violations, and encourage safer driving habits.
Regular patrols and targeted checks are expected to continue, particularly during weekends and festive seasons when traffic volumes are higher.
Community cooperation remains a key factor in ensuring the success of these operations. Police have urged residents to support enforcement efforts by adhering to regulations and reporting unsafe practices.
By working together, authorities and the public can reduce risks and improve road safety standards across Sarawak.
