Hajah Nancy Joins Gema Maulid with JKM Children to Honour Prophet Muhammad

BANGI, 17 Sept 2025 – Federal Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Hajah Nancy Haji Shukri, joined the Gema Maulid Program at the Peninsular Welfare, Protection and Rehabilitation Centre (PLPP) Bangi on Wednesday night, in conjunction with the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW.

The programme, organised together with children under the care of the Social Welfare Department (JKM), carried the theme of reviving the spirit of love towards the Prophet and reflecting on his noble struggle in spreading Islam.

Speaking during the gathering, Hajah Nancy expressed her heartfelt appreciation for the meaningful knowledge shared by Imam Muda Asyraf, who was among the invited speakers for the event.

“This heart misses the Prophet Muhammad. Tonight, being with the children of JKM and listening to the reminders, we are reminded of the Prophet’s sacrifice, his patience, and his service in bringing the light of Islam to the world. May we take lessons from his example,” she said.

The Gema Maulid Program, held annually, serves not only as a spiritual reminder but also as a platform to strengthen ties between leaders, religious figures, and the younger generation. It highlights the values of compassion, patience, and service, which are core teachings of the Prophet.

The presence of JKM children added a special touch to the gathering, where they actively took part in the recitation of selawat and prayers. For many, the event became a moment to deepen their understanding of the Prophet’s teachings and apply them in their daily lives.

Hajah Nancy emphasised that programmes such as Gema Maulid are vital in keeping alive the love for Prophet Muhammad SAW, especially among the younger generation. She hoped the event would continue to inspire Malaysians to emulate the Prophet’s humility, wisdom, and compassion.

The evening ended with heartfelt prayers for the well-being of the nation and the unity of the Muslim community.
