KUCHING, 11 January – Batu Lintang assemblyman YB See Chee How shaved his head today at Go Bald 2025, an event held at Aeroville Mall to show support for children battling cancer. The event, organised by the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS), brought the community together to raise awareness and funds for young cancer warriors.
The event began with Kapitan Tan Kun Gee, Managing Director of Lee Onn Group, ceremonially cutting YB See Chee How’s hair to kickstart the proceedings. This marked a strong show of solidarity for the #GoBald movement, aimed at creating a brighter future for children and families affected by childhood cancer.
This year’s campaign raised an incredible RM65,090, exceeding its RM60,000 target. The generosity of the public and corporate sponsors shone through, reaffirming the community’s commitment to this cause.
The crowd was deeply moved by stories of resilience shared by participants like Mr. Orai, a grandfather whose 4-year-old grandchild is undergoing treatment, and Kong Shaw Tzay, a passionate advocate. These personal stories highlighted the importance of standing together to offer hope and strength to young patients and their families.
SCCS also revealed its significant contributions in 2025, providing over RM560,000 in medical sponsorships for two children—a 13-year-old girl with leukaemia and a 5-year-old boy with neuroblastoma—both of whom require life-saving bone marrow transplants.
Since 2011, YB See Chee How has been a steadfast supporter of the Go Bald movement, making this his fourth time shaving his head. The funds raised by SCCS have supported over 1,700 families across Sarawak, ensuring these children receive the care and support they need.
