Decomposed Remains Discovered Near Kuala Perlis

KANGAR: A decomposed human skeleton was found in a mangrove forest on Jalan Batu Buaya, Kampung Wai in Kuala Perlis near here yesterday afternoon.

Kangar District Police Chief ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said his side received information about the discovery from the public at 4.20pm.

“A thorough inspection at the location did not find anything suspicious and an inspection of the skeleton found that it was not of sufficient quality and had decomposed. The skeleton may have been washed away or eaten by animals in the bush,” he said in a statement last night.

He said the initial investigation by the police did not suspect any element of crime and so far the case was classified as sudden death pending the results of the autopsy.

The skeleton was sent to Tuanku Fauziah Hospital, Kangar for the post-mortem process.
