Imran Ajmain Concert Boosts Miri’s Tourism Drive Ahead of VMY 2026

MIRI: The Imran Ajmain – Malam Seribu Tahun – Live in Miri concert is set to bring much-needed vibrancy and interest to Sarawak’s tourism, particularly Miri city, as the state gears for Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2026.

The concert to be held at the Eastwood Valley Golf & Country Club on 13 February 2026 will feature the award-winning singer-songwriter Imran Ajmain who has been in the industry for over 20 years.

Best known for his timeless ballad Seribu Tahun and other hits like Jika Engkau Pergi and Setulus Kasih, Ajmain’s concert is expected to attract fans as well as music lovers from around the region.

Organisers are promoting the concert as much more than an entertainment extravaganza. It is strategically placed to drive Miri as an eventful tourism destination, which is in line with the Sarawak State’s development of developing the creative economy and positioning Sarawak as a hub for international standard events.

The early numbers in ticket sales reflect some promising regional interest. Some 35 per cent of tickets sold thus far have been snapped up by fans in Brunei Darussalam, hinting at the concert’s potential to boost inter-nation tourism. This development mirrors the increasing popularity of Miri as a cultural and recreational centre for its bordering counterparts.

The concert is organised by Front-Row Entertainment and tickets are priced from RM99 to RM330 based on seating categories. The event boasts a two-hour no intermission show, taking you on a journey of sensory-led music.

Local tourism players are hopeful that the concert will add further mileage to Sarawak’s long-term tourism target.

With a strong tourism pull factor and the opportunity to showcase Miri’s hospitality and entertainment services, the event is likely to also boost the city’s reputation as a hub for recreation and culture.

The Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak has also been stressing on the importance of cultural showcase for tourism promotions.

We consider events like this concert as critical to establishing Sarawak as a significant player in the regional tourism scene at a time when Malaysia is counting down to the countrywide VMY 2026 campaign.

In addition to being fun, the concert is seen as a key part of an overall plan to spread Sarawak’s risk when it comes to tourism.

By combining music, culture and global outreach, Miri is marketed not only as a city of natural beauty and adventure, but also as a hub for creative and cultural interaction.

Amid the increasing excitement of followers and stakeholders, the Malam Seribu Tahun concert will be a major chapter in Miri’s march to being an established travel spot in South East Asia.
