KOTA SAMARAHAN – Police arrested two local men and seized 0.50 grams of suspected ketamine during an integrated crime prevention operation conducted in the Kota Samarahan district on 26 August.
The operation, organised by the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD), involved 21 personnel from several enforcement teams, including roadblocks, Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPV), and teams responsible for raids and arrests.
As part of the operation, police inspected 58 vehicles and 66 individuals within the Kota Samarahan IPD administrative area.
Three PDRM (K) 257 summonses were issued during the operation for offences involving modified exhaust systems, fancy registration numbers and vehicles without side mirrors.
Police also made two arrests involving local men suspected of offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
During the arrests, officers seized a plastic packet containing a substance suspected to be ketamine. The suspected drug had a reported weight of 0.50 grams.
The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to prevent crime and strengthen police visibility and enforcement within the Kota Samarahan district.
The participation of different operational teams allowed police to conduct traffic inspections alongside crime prevention activities during the exercise. The operation covered checks on road users as well as enforcement action linked to suspected drug offences.
Police said the operation proceeded smoothly and achieved its intended objective of preventing crime and increasing enforcement presence across the district.
The three traffic-related summonses issued during the operation involved equipment and vehicle-related offences. Police continue to remind motorists that vehicles should comply with relevant road regulations and safety requirements.
The arrests linked to the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 represent a separate enforcement outcome from the traffic checks conducted during the operation. The seized substance remains described as suspected ketamine.
Police did not provide further details on the identities of the two men or the circumstances surrounding their arrests in the information released on the operation.
The integrated approach also reflects efforts to combine routine patrols, road inspections and targeted enforcement as part of crime prevention activities in the district.
