MERADONG – The Meradong District Police Headquarters (IPD Meradong) carried out an Integrated Crime Prevention Operation on 27 April 2026, targeting several areas identified as crime-prone within the district.
The operation was led by Insp. Mohd Salman Zulfitri bin Sheekandar as field officer, with SI Jivson son of Rockson Chin Chang serving as assistant field officer.
A total of 16 officers and personnel were mobilised to strengthen police presence and reassure the community.
Patrols were conducted across multiple strategic locations, including Jalan Kelupu, Jalan KJD, Jalan Bakong, Jalan Kilang, Taman Bintang, Taman Alomara, Jalan Tulai, Taman Paris Height, Taman Vynyrd Resident, Kampung Melayu and Tanjung Genting.
Roadblocks were also set up along Jalan Selidap/Meradong to monitor traffic entering and leaving the Bintangor area.
During the operation, police examined 84 individuals, comprising 50 men and 34 women. Inspections were also carried out on 72 vehicles, ranging from motorcycles and cars to vans, four-wheel drives and lorries.
Authorities reported that six summonses were issued for traffic-related offences. No arrests or seizures were made during the exercise, which was primarily aimed at deterring criminal activity and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations.
The initiative focused on preventing offences such as theft, drug abuse, gambling and other immoral activities.
Police emphasised that the operation was part of broader efforts to increase visibility and strengthen public confidence in law enforcement.
Community safety remains a key priority for IPD Meradong, which has pledged to continue conducting similar operations at regular intervals.
Officials noted that consistent enforcement and patrols are essential in reducing crime rates and maintaining order across the district.
Residents have been encouraged to cooperate with police during such operations and to report any suspicious activity promptly.
Authorities believe that strong collaboration between the public and law enforcement agencies is vital in safeguarding neighbourhoods and ensuring long-term security.
The operation reflects the police’s ongoing commitment to proactive crime prevention strategies, reinforcing the message that public safety and order will be upheld through coordinated enforcement measures.
