Two-Vehicle Crash on Jalan Matang Leaves Three with Minor Injuries

PETRA JAYA – A road accident involving two vehicles on Jalan Matang, heading towards Kuching Polytechnic, left three men with minor injuries this morning.

According to a spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), the emergency call was received at 9.28 am. Following the alert, the Petra Jaya Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) immediately dispatched a team led by PBK II Awang Ismail Awang Masri to the location, situated about 20 kilometres away. The team arrived at the scene at 9.49 am.

The collision involved a Proton Wira carrying two adult men and a Perodua Bezza driven by another adult man. All victims sustained only minor injuries. Firefighters assisted in safely removing them from the vehicles before they were handed over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) medical team. They were later transported to hospital for further treatment.

Firefighters then carried out inspection and safety measures at the site to prevent further risk. The operation was officially concluded at 10.35 am after ensuring the area was secure.

Authorities have yet to release the full cause of the accident, but the incident highlights the importance of exercising extra caution along Jalan Matang, especially during busy morning traffic hours.

The police are expected to carry out further investigation into the case. Road users are reminded to stay alert, maintain safe driving distances, and adhere to traffic regulations to reduce the risk of accidents.
