JAPEN Melaka Prepares for Skillbox Programme in Alor Gajah

MELAKA – The Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN) has stepped up preparations for its upcoming Skillbox Programme, scheduled to take place from 8 to 10 May 2026 at Kem Permata Resort, Alor Gajah.

The initiative, organised by JAPEN Melaka in collaboration with the Communication and Community Development Services Division (PKPM) at JAPEN headquarters, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen communication strategies and enhance community engagement across the Peninsular Zone.

Earlier this week, the Director General of JAPEN, Julina Johan, held a meeting with the Tangkak District Information Office (PPD) and JAPEN Melaka.

The session focused on strategic planning for stakeholders, ensuring that field officers have a clear understanding of their roles in delivering accurate information to the public.

Julina emphasised that clarity in communication is vital to avoid confusion and maintain trust among communities.

The Skillbox Programme is expected to provide training and capacity-building opportunities for JAPEN staff, equipping them with practical tools to improve outreach and service delivery.

By fostering stronger collaboration between divisions, the programme aims to enhance the department’s ability to respond effectively to community needs.

Julina expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by the Tangkak PPD and JAPEN Melaka teams, noting that their dedication reflects the department’s broader mission to empower communities through information.

She also indicated her willingness to extend support to colleagues in other states in the future, should the opportunity arise.

The upcoming programme is anticipated to attract active participation from JAPEN officers, with organisers confident that it will strengthen the department’s role in promoting civic awareness and community development.
