Asajaya saw a more personal side of service as officers from the Fire and Rescue Department Sarawak gathered for a friendly networking session in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Held on March 22 at BBP Asajaya, the programme brought personnel together with the department’s director, Jamri bin Masran. The session ran for just over an hour, but the setting made it count, relaxed, open, and in tune with the festive mood.
It wasn’t only a meet-and-greet. Raya contributions were handed out to officers on duty, a small gesture that carried weight, especially for those spending the celebration away from family.
The duty team, led by Abg Othman bin Abg Sharbini alongside the Bravo Team, reflected what the department stands for. Even during festive periods, their role doesn’t pause. They remain on standby, ready to respond.
The programme leaned into something deeper than formal engagement. It built connection. Conversations flowed more naturally, barriers felt lower, and the sense of unity grew stronger. That matters in a line of work where trust and teamwork shape every response.
For JBPM Sarawak, this fits into a wider effort, keeping morale steady and relationships strong across its ranks. Festive seasons tend to highlight the sacrifices made by frontline personnel, and events like this help balance duty with appreciation.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri carries themes of renewal, forgiveness, and togetherness. For these officers, it also comes with responsibility. While others celebrate, they stay ready to protect lives and property.
The director’s presence added a personal touch. His time with the team signalled recognition, not only for their work, but for the commitment behind it. Moments like these remind officers that their efforts are seen.
By blending festive spirit with open dialogue, the session strengthened both morale and unity. It’s the kind of approach JBPM Sarawak plans to continue, keeping its teams connected while they carry out their mission across the state.
