BELAGA – The Immigration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia, JIM) Sarawak successfully conducted a comprehensive enforcement inspection at premises around Sungai Pileran, Belaga. The operation was led by TPPK Noron bin Yusup, alongside the Special Action Team (PTK), aiming to verify immigration compliance and ensure all foreign workers had valid documentation.
During the inspection, the team reviewed the authenticity of work documents, the validity of Temporary Work Visit Passes (PLKS), and adherence to the Immigration Act 1959/63. A total of 264 foreign workers were verified to have valid documents, with the workforce comprising Malaysian, Indonesian, and Chinese citizens.
The management of the premises fully cooperated with the inspection, providing all necessary information and facilitating the verification process. JIM Sarawak emphasized that such enforcement operations are essential to maintaining the integrity of immigration laws and the security of the state.
“Enforcement activities will continue to be carried out regularly across all employment sectors, including remote and rural areas,” JIM Sarawak said in a statement. “Distance or limited access will not hinder the implementation of operations. Every employer must ensure compliance with immigration regulations to maintain workplace legality and security.”
This operation in Belaga highlights JIM Sarawak’s ongoing commitment to monitoring and enforcing immigration compliance throughout the state. Such inspections are not only aimed at verifying work permits but also ensuring that foreign labor contributes legally and responsibly to the local economy.
Employers are reminded that adherence to the Immigration Act 1959/63 is compulsory and regular inspections will continue, particularly in sectors where foreign labor is prevalent. JIM Sarawak reaffirmed its dedication to safeguarding the state against illegal employment and ensuring orderly labor management.
