PADAWAN – The Kuching Division Social Welfare Department (JKM) has distributed more than 600 boxes of drinking water to residents in two drought-affected villages in the Mambong constituency as part of its dry season relief initiative.

The aid distribution took place in two separate sessions today:

Kampung Petag

  • 266 boxes of drinking water were delivered
  • 28 families received the assistance
  • The handover was officiated at the Kampung Petag Raya Hall
  • Led by JKM Kuching Officer Mariam Ensabi and four department officials
  • Also in attendance: Village Chief Mecca Sadjoy and members of the Village Development and Safety Committee (JKKK)

Kampung Sitang

  • 420 boxes of drinking water were delivered
  • 36 families benefited
  • Supervised by Mariam Ensabi and the JKM team
  • Witnessed by Village Chief Joseph Merot Nyokin

This emergency relief effort comes in response to prolonged dry weather affecting rural communities that depend heavily on natural water sources for their daily needs.

JKM, alongside relevant agencies, is committed to providing swift assistance to residents facing hardship due to the current drought
