In a stunning turn at the NFL Honors in New Orleans, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen beat out Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson to clinch the coveted NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
A Historic Win for Allen
Allen made history as the first player in 21 seasons to win MVP without being named first-team All-Pro. This rare feat has only been accomplished by legends like John Elway (1987) and Steve McNair (2003).
The MVP race was one of the tightest in recent years, with Allen edging out Jackson by just four first-place votes—27 to 23. Despite trailing Jackson in major stats, Allen’s ability to lead the Bills to a 13-4 record without his top wide receivers cemented his place as MVP. He became the first player in NFL history to record at least 25 touchdown passes, 10 rushing touchdowns, and fewer than 10 interceptions in a single season.
