JPJ Betong Inspects 114 Vehicles in Ops Compliance

BETONG – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Betong Branch Operations Unit conducted Ops Compliance on 6 February 2026, focusing on patrol and monitoring enforcement along the Jalan Pan Borneo, Betong-Sarikei route, as well as static checks at the Roban junction, Saratok.

Inspections covered both commercial and private vehicles, with a total of 114 vehicles examined. Officers detected several offences, including expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), lack of insurance, registration numbers not meeting specifications, and other technical compliance issues.

JPJ officers confirmed that drivers and vehicle owners involved in these offences were dealt with appropriately. The department emphasised that such measures are essential to enforce road laws and protect all road users.

The operation highlighted the need for continuous monitoring and enforcement, particularly on major roads like the Pan Borneo Highway, where traffic is heavy and compliance is critical.

By addressing issues such as expired documents and improper number plates, JPJ aims to reduce risks and improve discipline among drivers.

The JPJ Betong Branch reiterated that road safety remains a top priority. Officials noted that consistent enforcement not only deters violations but also raises awareness among drivers about their responsibilities on the road.

This initiative is part of JPJ’s broader mission to promote safe driving and ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards. Through strict enforcement, the department seeks to protect lives, prevent accidents, and foster a culture of compliance across Sarawak.
