BETONG – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Betong Branch Operations Unit carried out Ops Patuh on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, through patrols and monitoring across the towns of Betong, Pusa, and Beladin. The operation was aimed at ensuring that road users comply with transport laws and regulations.
During the enforcement exercise, a total of 90 vehicles, both commercial and private, were inspected. Officers detected several violations, including drivers without valid licences, expired Motor Vehicle Licences (LKM), vehicles without insurance coverage, and other technical offences relating to roadworthiness.
JPJ Betong highlighted that enforcement operations are crucial to maintaining safety standards on the road.
The department stressed that expired licences and lack of insurance are serious breaches that can endanger both drivers and the wider community.
Officials reiterated that enforcement will continue to be intensified from time to time to ensure compliance remains high.
Regular patrols and monitoring are part of JPJ’s wider strategy to reduce risks and uphold accountability among road users.
Ops Patuh reflects JPJ’s commitment to strengthening road safety across Sarawak. By targeting both private and commercial vehicles, the department aims to foster a culture of responsibility and integrity among motorists.
