MUKAH – The JPJ Mukah Branch carried out Ops Gempur Commercial Vehicles on 5 February 2026, focusing on patrols and enforcement around Mukah town.
The operation aimed to ensure road users comply with traffic laws while promoting safer driving practices for all.
During the checks, a total of 142 private and commercial vehicles were inspected. Officers found various offences, including expired road tax, poor vehicle maintenance, unauthorised modifications to vehicle structures and equipment, and other technical violations.
JPJ confirmed that enforcement actions were carried out in accordance with the law, emphasising the importance of road safety and public protection.
Vehicle owners were reminded to keep their documents valid and maintain their vehicles properly before use.
Ops Gempur reflects JPJ’s ongoing commitment to continuous enforcement. Regular patrols and inspections aim to raise awareness among drivers, instil discipline, and reduce accidents caused by negligence or non-compliance.
The initiative was welcomed by the community, who noted that consistent enforcement serves as a deterrent and encourages responsible driving.
JPJ Mukah stated it will continue to intensify operations as part of its long-term plan to create a safer road environment across the district.
This operation forms part of JPJ Sarawak’s broader efforts to strengthen road safety culture statewide, ensuring that private and commercial vehicles meet required standards and contribute to safer journeys for all road users.
