KUCHING, 7 Aug 2025 – The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) has reinforced its commitment to road safety and legal compliance through the Integrated Agency Ops Bil. 3/2025, conducted on Thursday at two key checkpoints — Jalan Samarahan-Kuching and Jalan Kuching-Samarahan.

The large-scale enforcement, held in conjunction with the Luxury Vehicle Ops, aimed to ensure that all vehicles, including high-end models, comply with road regulations such as valid road tax and insurance coverage. This operation was supported by a total of 70 personnel from several enforcement bodies. JPJ Kuching deployed six officers and 41 members, while the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) sent 11 members. The Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) IPK contributed four members, JSPT Kota Samarahan added five members, and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) sent three members to participate in the effort.
Throughout the operation, JPJ issued a total of 373 traffic offence notices for various violations. A total of 27 vehicles were seized, including 23 motorcycles, one commercial lorry, and three multi-purpose vehicles — among them two Toyota Alphards and a Mercedes-Benz — which were confiscated due to serious offences such as expired road tax and the absence of valid insurance coverage. The Royal Malaysia Police, through JSPT, also issued 145 traffic offence notices, underlining their commitment to ensuring road safety.
AADK carried out 22 urine tests and confirmed that eight individuals tested positive for drugs. Seven tested positive for methamphetamine, while one tested positive for marijuana, highlighting the serious threat of drug-related activities on the roads. MACC reported no incidents of corruption or misconduct, reflecting smooth cooperation among all agencies involved.

Deputy Director of JPJ Sarawak, Mr. Nor Azlan Ibrahim, and Head of JPJ Sarawak Operations Section, Mr. Saifullah Ali, were present at the operation site to provide encouragement and support to the officers and personnel on duty.
