SARIKEI – The Sarikei Branch of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) organised a briefing and site visit on 8 April 2026 to guide companies bidding for office cleaning and landscape maintenance services. The contract will run for a period of 24 months.
The session, held at the JPJ Sarikei Meeting Room, attracted 28 companies. Participants were briefed on service specifications, scope of work, and requirements for preparing bid documents.
Officials stressed the importance of compliance with technical and financial documentation, as well as the correct completion of mandatory forms.
Special attention was given to common mistakes that bidders should avoid, ensuring that submissions meet the necessary standards. The briefing aimed to provide clarity and reduce errors that could disqualify proposals.
Following the session, participants were taken on a site visit around the JPJ Sarikei Branch Complex. This allowed companies to gain a clearer understanding of the requirements for office cleaning and landscape management, ensuring that bids reflect the actual needs of the facility.
JPJ Sarawak emphasised that the briefing was intended to serve as a reference for suppliers, enabling them to prepare accurate and complete submissions.
The department highlighted that adherence to guidelines would help streamline the evaluation process and ensure fairness in awarding the contract.
The closing date for quotations has been set for 15 April 2026 (Wednesday) at 12.00 noon. Companies are expected to upload their documents before the deadline to be considered.
Procurement experts note that such sessions are increasingly common in government tenders, as they help suppliers understand expectations and improve transparency.
By providing clear instructions, agencies encourage competitive bidding while maintaining accountability.
The Secretariat of the Procurement and Development Unit at JPJ Sarawak expressed confidence that the session would assist suppliers in meeting requirements and contribute to a smoother tender process.
