JPJ Sibu Launches Special Ops to Clamp Down on Commercial Vehicles

SIBU – The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu Branch carried out a Special Operation (Ops Khas) targeting commercial vehicles around Sibu town yesterday, aiming to ensure strict compliance with road regulations and safeguard public safety.

The operation focused on commercial vehicles that pose high risks to road users, including lorries and trucks frequently reported for violating traffic laws. Officers monitored vehicle conditions, checked documentation, and ensured compliance with designated parking areas. The initiative reflects JPJ Sarawak’s commitment to maintaining road safety at the highest standards.

YBrs. Tuan Norizan bin Jili, Director of JPJ Sarawak, visited the operation personally to provide moral support and assess the effectiveness of the enforcement team. His presence was a significant boost to the officers’ morale, emphasizing the importance of thorough enforcement and efficient operational execution.

During the operation, the JPJ Sibu team acted promptly on public complaints concerning lorries parked in prohibited zones. This quick response underlines the department’s dedication to addressing public concerns and ensuring that traffic safety is not compromised. The department encourages citizens to continue reporting violations, which greatly aids in strengthening the road safety ecosystem in Sarawak.

JPJ Sarawak expressed gratitude to the public for their cooperation in providing timely information and complaints. Such collaboration is seen as crucial in maintaining an orderly and safe road environment, ensuring that both commercial operators and ordinary road users adhere to traffic laws.

The department reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to protecting road users, highlighting that operations like Ops Khas are essential for both enforcement and public awareness. JPJ Sarawak assures that similar operations will continue regularly, particularly targeting high-risk vehicles, to ensure the well-being of the people and reduce accidents caused by negligence or non-compliance.
