JPJ Top Management Joins Field Officers for Ramadan Iftar

MIRI – The senior leadership of JPJ Malaysia took the time to breakfast with frontliners in Miri on 4 March; this initiative reflects the commitment of the department to establishing cooperation and shared responsibility during Ramadan.

The event was graced by Datuk Jazmanie Shafawi, JPJ Malaysia Deputy Director General (Planning & Operations), who took the time to mingle with field enforcement personnel. He was there to get a sense of the atmosphere on the front lines and to build management-staff relations.

In attendance were Datuk Haji Mohd Harris Ali, Director of JPJ Sabah, and Tuan Norizan Jili, Director of JPJ Sarawak, as well as senior officers and enforcement personnel from both Sarawak and Sabah. Their involvement underscored the need for leadership to interact with staff at all levels.

Finally, a humble but significant setting where officers together with the management broke their fast and performed Maghrib prayers. The night finished off with fellowship to truly appreciate the value of togetherness in JPJ.

Ramadan is a month of worship as much as it is a month when hearts unite and brotherhood prevails in the community,” officials stated. The involvement of top management also shows leadership that keeps close to the workforce, which is in line with JPJ’s guiding principle of One Voice Equally. This idea focuses on shared purpose, resolve and morale across the enterprise.

JPJ deputy director-general Datuk Jazmanie said he hoped such an assembly would continue to spur strength and commitment in JPJ staff. He emphasised that integrity, commitment and sincerity should always remain at the heart of their public service.

Enforcement personnel welcomed the initiative and said it was helpful to communicate directly with senior leaders. Many pointed to the gesture as a morale boost while also emphasising that it highlighted the department’s acknowledgement of daily difficulties experienced by officers in the field.

The management of JPJ had shown its commitment in unifying and appreciating all staff for coming together during Ramadan. In Miri, the event served as an appropriate reminder that both leadership and frontline officers have a goal to achieve together: to serve people with professionalism and integrity.
