Sarawak State Education Department Honoured at KPM MBJ Open Day

KUCHING – The Ministry of Education (KPM) Joint Departmental Council (MBJ) Open Day 2026 was held on 13 April at the KPM Auditorium, officiated by Encik Abkari bin Abdullah, Divisional Secretary (SUB), Human Resource Management Division (BPSM), representing Secretary General Dato’ Ts Dr Hj Aminuddin bin Hassim.

In his speech, Encik Abkari emphasised the crucial role of MBJ in improving service schemes and empowering staff welfare.

He noted that proposals raised by employees are vital in shaping policies that strengthen the education sector’s delivery and governance.

The Sarawak State Education Department (JPN Sarawak) was recognised for its outstanding contributions, having received the Most Active MBJ Award 2025, followed by Penang JPN and Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur JPN.

This achievement reflects Sarawak’s proactive engagement in staff welfare and organisational development.

The Open Day was further enlivened by exhibition booths from selected State MBJs under KPM, as well as participation from external agencies.

The event provided a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and showcasing best practices in staff engagement.

Officials expressed optimism that the MBJ Open Day will continue to strengthen communication between management and employees, ensuring that staff welfare remains a priority while enhancing the quality of education services nationwide.
