Kabong Assemblyman Funds School Activities with RM7,000

KABONG – A local school has received a significant financial boost to support its annual programmes and student development initiatives. The grant of RM7,000 was presented to the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Haji Junid Gerigat by its elected representative.

The contribution was announced by Kabong State Assemblyman, Dato Mohd Chee Kadir, during a ceremony held at the school. The event, which took place on Friday, combined a Yassin Recitation and Doa Selamat ceremony to mark the official opening of the institution’s new building.

Dato Mohd Chee Kadir expressed his hope that the funding would enhance the execution of the school’s scheduled activities. He emphasised that such support is crucial for encouraging greater involvement from parents and the wider community in educational matters.

He stated, “As an elected representative, I am always committed to ensuring that schools and students receive appropriate support.” He further elaborated on the broader value of school events, noting that they do more than just build student capabilities.

“The school’s annual activities not only strengthen students’ skills, but also strengthen relationships between teachers, parents and the community,” he explained to those gathered at the event. This community-centric approach is seen as vital for fostering a supportive learning environment.

The ceremony itself served a dual purpose, also functioning as an occasion to express gratitude for the completion of the new school building. The modern facility is expected to provide a vastly improved, more comfortable, and conducive atmosphere for both teaching and learning.

The funding is designated for a range of co-curricular and student development programmes that form part of the school’s annual calendar. These activities are considered essential for the holistic development of pupils beyond the standard academic curriculum.

Investments in educational infrastructure and supplementary programmes reflect a continued focus on elevating standards within the state’s education sector. Such initiatives are often linked to broader regional development goals aimed at empowering local communities through knowledge and skills.

The event concluded with a positive outlook for the school’s future, with the new facilities and additional funding poised to make a tangible difference in the educational experience offered to students at SK Haji Junid Gerigat.
