Kabong Assemblyman Backs Rural Women’s Initiatives

KABONG – The Kabong State Assemblyman, Dato Mohd Chee Kadir, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the position of women in rural communities through targeted support. This was demonstrated through the presentation of a RM3,000 contribution to the Pangey Vision Women’s Bureau.

The handover ceremony was integrated with a dialogue session held at Rumah Geraman Busum in Pangey earlier this week.

In his address to attendees, the Assemblyman highlighted the critical function women serve as the primary drivers in reinforcing both the social fabric and economic foundations of the local area.

He expressed his hope that the financial assistance would be deployed effectively to foster a greater spirit of unity and to help cultivate a community of women who are both competitive and self-reliant.

The initiative is part of broader efforts to ensure community development programmes continue to have a tangible impact at the grassroots level.

Following this event, Dato Mohd Chee Kadir proceeded to an engagement session related to the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP).

The meeting, conducted at SK Haji Junid in Gerigat, focused on the detailed planning of a project to construct a school surau.

This project has been allocated RM250,000 in funding. The Assemblyman stressed the importance of adhering to the project’s scheduled timeline.

This will allow the new facilities to be operational for school staff and pupils at the earliest opportunity, while also serving the needs of the wider community.

He further elaborated on his philosophy towards development in the Kabong constituency, insisting that every project must be executed with complete transparency and meticulous planning.

This rigorous approach is deemed essential to ensure that rural residents receive the full benefits intended by such development initiatives.

Programmes aimed at women’s empowerment are increasingly seen as vital for sustainable rural progress, helping to unlock economic potential and improve household welfare.

The construction of community infrastructure, like the planned surau, similarly addresses both spiritual and practical needs, creating shared spaces for congregation and learning.
