Quick Response Saves Family as House Destroyed by Fire in Kampung Kolong 1

KUCHING – A fast response from the APM Kuching team prevented a tragic outcome when a fire engulfed a permanent structure house in Kampung Kolong 1, Kuching, earlier today.

Four officers and personnel from APM Kuching rushed to the scene after receiving emergency calls reporting the fire. Upon arrival, the team discovered that the house had been severely affected by the blaze. Fortunately, the resident was able to evacuate in time and sustained no injuries.

In support of the victim, APM Kuching immediately provided two (2) Food Kits (KM) to the affected family. The victim has since moved to the nearest family home, and no temporary evacuation centre (PPS) had to be opened.

Authorities confirmed that the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Fire Department. Meanwhile, the community has been reminded to exercise caution and report any emergencies promptly.

APM Kuching continues to urge residents to contact them immediately in the event of emergencies. The public can reach the unit via 082-252940 or 082-252941, or call the nationwide emergency line 999 for urgent assistance.

This incident underscores the importance of emergency preparedness and the swift action of local rescue units in minimizing the impact of fire incidents. While the family suffers the loss of their home, the quick intervention by APM Kuching ensured that no life was lost. Local authorities are continuing investigations to determine the exact cause of the fire and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
