KUCHING, 29 December 2024 – The residents of Kampung Tabuan Jaya Tengah came together last night to celebrate their annual Christmas and New Year Gathering 2024 at Rumah Gawai, off Lorong 10, Jalan Kedandi. The event was a heartwarming success, bringing the community closer and spreading festive cheer.
The celebration began at 6:30 PM with the arrival of residents, followed by invited guests at 7:00 PM. A beautiful choir performance and caroling session at 7:30 PM set the tone for the evening, followed by a blessing ceremony led by Deacon Christmanuel.
Key speeches were delivered by:
- Lay Reader Tungi, JKKK Religious Bureau Head and Program Organizer
- Madam Diana John, Village Chief
Special guests included Sih Hua Tong, SUPP Batu Lintang Branch Chairman, William Vong, John Wong, Penghulu Onggom, Sung Chin Kheng and Kueh Siew Foong , the Executive Secretary of SUPP Batu Lintang Branch and others who joined the celebration.
The event featured a delicious communal dinner and several fun-filled games organized by Mdm Jawai, Mr. Donny, and Mdm Julia, such as:
- Collecting sugar rocks
- Balloon blowing
- Musical box passing
- Bread eating
- Lane changing
Children and adults alike enjoyed the evening, especially with a special appearance by Santa Claus, who brought smiles to everyone. Exciting prizes were handed out to the game winners, adding to the joy of the night.
Residents left the gathering with hearts full of happiness, grateful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate as a community. The event marked a wonderful end to 2024 and a cheerful start to the new year.
