KAPIT – The RANDO Kapit contingent has been called upon to demonstrate strong determination and unity as they prepare for the Sarawak RANDO Sports Carnival 2025, scheduled to take place in Samarahan from 6 to 9 November.
Resident of Kapit Division, Elvis Didit, emphasised that discipline, teamwork and commitment would be crucial for the squad to achieve success and bring pride to the division.
He delivered the message during the Symbolic Handing Over Ceremony of the RANDO Kapit Shirt and Flag, held at the Kapit State Government Complex on Tuesday.
Elvis also reminded participants to maintain both physical and mental readiness throughout the competition.
He announced that a Special Award would be presented to any team that managed to secure the championship trophy, in recognition of their dedication and effort.
Reflecting on past achievements, he expressed pride in the RANDO Kapit parade team, which secured third place in the previous edition of the carnival and earned a cash prize of RM2,000.
He said this accomplishment highlighted the strong sportsmanship and determination of the division’s representatives.
This year, 65 athletes will represent Kapit Division, competing in a variety of events including table tennis, football, pickleball, netball and badminton.
The symbolic ceremony not only marked the official launch of the team’s participation but also served as a motivational platform to inspire players to strive for excellence in every event.
The carnival, hosted in Samarahan, is expected to bring together contingents from across Sarawak, with the aim of fostering camaraderie, discipline and unity among civil servants.
Similar to other divisions such as Sri Aman, which has also launched its contingent with high hopes of securing medals, the Kapit team is determined to showcase resilience and teamwork on the state stage.
Elvis noted that beyond competition, the carnival plays a vital role in strengthening cooperation and solidarity among government employees.
“Through active participation in sports, we can cultivate unity, discipline and mutual respect, which are essential values for both the workplace and the wider community,” he said.
The Sarawak RANDO Sports Carnival has become a significant annual event, promoting not only athletic excellence but also the spirit of togetherness among divisions.
For Kapit, the 2025 edition represents another opportunity to build on past successes and demonstrate the division’s commitment to sportsmanship and collective achievement.
