KABONG – The spirit of unity is palpable in Kabong as residents, government agencies, and volunteers unite in a collective effort to prepare for the upcoming Kabong International Beach Trail Marathon (KIBTM) 2025.
In a powerful display of grassroots collaboration, Kabong State Assemblyman Dato’ Mohd Chee Kadir joined local communities in cleaning Tanjung Kembang Beach, a symbolic gesture underscoring the shared commitment to hosting a world-class event.
This joint clean-up, involving multiple stakeholders, ensured the coastal area was pristine and welcoming ahead of the marathon’s arrival.
Dato’ Mohd Chee subsequently chaired a coordination meeting with key agencies and event stakeholders to finalize logistical arrangements, ensuring seamless execution of the four-day festival scheduled from 13 to 16 September 2025.
The event has already drawn significant international interest, with participants confirmed from 19 countries including Malaysia, totalling nearly 470 runners across various categories.
The official opening ceremony will be held on 14 September at 9 a.m. at Pantai Tanjung Kembang, marking the start of a vibrant celebration featuring trail runs, cultural performances, and community activities designed to engage both athletes and visitors.
Organizers are inviting the public to join the festivities and help create an unforgettable atmosphere for this growing global sporting spectacle.
