Local Man Arrested for Pepper Spray Robbery at KK Mart, Satok

KUCHING – A local man was arrested in connection with a robbery at KK Mart, Satok, in the early hours of 29 November 2025. The arrest was made by officers from the Kuching District Police Headquarters’ Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at Taman Iris, Kuching.

The incident occurred around 12:56 am when a 28-year-old woman, the store attendant, was approached by an unknown man who requested to use MyKasih assistance to select several necessities. Among the items chosen was pepper powder.

According to police reports, the suspect suddenly grabbed the pepper powder and sprayed it into the victim’s face, causing her eyes to sting. The man then fled the scene with the items, with the total estimated loss amounting to RM137.

Investigators reviewed CCTV footage and identified the suspect fleeing in a Perodua Alza. Further checks revealed that the vehicle belonged to an acquaintance of the suspect. Following the investigation, the suspect was remanded for four days until 3 December 2025.

The case is currently being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for committing robbery. If found guilty, the suspect faces a possible sentence of up to 14 years in prison, a fine, or whipping.

Police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help prevent similar incidents in the community.
