BALINGIAN – The spirit of patriotism was on full display at the Kuala Balingian Village Community Hall when the 2025 Jalur Gemilang Independence Parade (KMJG) Phase 2 arrived as the 17th stop of the national programme on Saturday.

Balingian State Assemblyman (ADUN) Abdul Yakub Arbi said the selection of Kuala Balingian as one of the convoy’s destinations was a meaningful honour for the local community.

He noted that the enthusiastic reception from residents reflected the people’s enduring commitment to national unity.

“Hopefully this KMJG in Kampung Kuala Balingian will be an inspiration for us to continue to defend unity and harmony, which form the foundation of our beloved country’s strength,” he said.

Touching on this year’s theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni,” Abdul Yakub highlighted the significance of the MADANI concept, which centres on values of compassion, social justice, and inclusive development.

He added that the approach is consistent with the aspirations of Sarawak Maju Makmur 2030, which promotes social integration, progressive thinking, and balanced economic growth.
