KUCHING – The 2025 Kuching Festival Martial Arts Display lit up the city on 8 August with a grand showcase of discipline, unity, and community spirit. Held in a lively atmosphere, the event brought together more than 1,500 martial arts practitioners from 13 associations, each demonstrating their mastery in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

The stage came alive as performers displayed the beauty, strength, and precision of martial arts, drawing cheers and admiration from spectators. Among the notable attendees was Xue Huadong, better known as Dong Ge, who was joined by members from the Yan Chai Gang Tai Chi Qigong 18-Posture Health Class and the Batu Lintang branch to show their support.

Sih Hua Tong, accompanied by friends from the Yanchai Port Taiji Qigong 18-Style Health Class and members of the SUPP Batu Lintang Branch, also turned up to lend encouragement to the performers. Their presence added to the strong sense of camaraderie and pride that resonated throughout the evening.

More than just a form of self-defense, martial arts was celebrated for its deeper values—discipline, perseverance, respect, and mutual understanding. The event underscored the role of martial arts in bringing together people of all ages and cultural backgrounds, embodying the true meaning of “No One Left Behind.”

Organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the sifus and coaches for their dedication in preserving and passing down martial arts traditions, as well as to family members and friends whose unwavering support made the event possible. Special thanks were also extended to the hardworking committee members who ensured the smooth running of the event.

The Kuching Festival Martial Arts Display was not just an evening of spectacular performances—it was a powerful reminder of how cultural heritage can strengthen community bonds and foster unity in diversity.
