KUCHING — Timberland Medical Centre, together with the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching Branch, will be holding a Community Health Carnival themed “Together For Health” on Sunday, 12 October 2025, at the SUPP Headquarters, Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui.
The event will run from 9am to 4pm and is open to the public with free admission.
Co-Organising Chairman, SUPP Kuching Branch Youth Chairman Nicholas Wung, said the health carnival is aimed at encouraging more people to take preventive steps towards better health.
“This programme is free for everyone, and I believe it will bring great benefits to the community, especially for those who want to check on their health but may not have the opportunity to do so regularly,” he said.
The Guest of Honour for the event will be the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, who is also the Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government. His presence is seen as a strong show of support for community healthcare initiatives and the importance of preventive health awareness in Sarawak.

Visitors will have access to a wide range of free health screenings, including dental and oral examinations, eye tests, BMI and blood pressure checks, cholesterol and glucose monitoring, bone density screening for osteoporosis, breast scanning, HPV screening, microcapillary testing, and hearing assessments.
Apart from medical services, the carnival will also provide dietitian consultations, health and wealth planning advisory services, as well as information on government and social welfare benefits.
Several agencies and organisations are supporting the event, including the Department of Community Welfare Sarawak, LPPKN, EPF, Yakult, 20dB Therapy Tree, and other health and community partners.
To make the carnival more engaging, there will be children’s colouring contests, senior dance performances, carnival games, free gifts, and food trucks offering a variety of food and drinks.
Organisers said the health carnival reflects a strong community effort to improve public awareness on health issues, while at the same time creating a family-friendly atmosphere.
