The commitment was formalised during a courtesy visit by LAKMNS to the Sarawak State Library on 21 April 2026.

The partnership aims to support community education initiatives and ensure that reference materials and information sources are more widely available to the public.

The LAKMNS delegation was led by Chief Executive Officer YBhg. Datu Haji Abdul Hadi bin Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir.

He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Executive Officer Encik Mohamad Feisal bin Said, Chief Officer of the Mosque Management Department Encik Abang Bikusary bin Haji Kadir, Chief Officer of the Assets and Facilities Department Encik Khasmady bin Haji Mahidi, Chief Officer of the Management and Services Department Puan Haryati binti Mohamad, and Officer of the Administration and Communications Division Encik Mohamad Hanif bin Abdullah.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by Pustaka Chief Executive Officer Tuan Haji Japri Bujang Masli, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Encik Wan Mazli bin Wan Razali, and members of the library’s senior management team.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss shared objectives and explore avenues for cooperation in promoting literacy and knowledge-sharing.

Both institutions emphasised the importance of partnerships in advancing community education. By combining resources and expertise, LAKMNS and the Sarawak State Library aim to create programmes that encourage lifelong learning and foster a culture of reading among Sarawakians.

The collaboration is expected to include joint initiatives such as literacy campaigns, educational workshops, and improved access to digital and physical reference materials.

These efforts will contribute to building a more informed society, supporting Sarawak’s broader vision of development through education and knowledge empowerment.

The visit also highlighted the role of libraries as community hubs, providing not only books and reference materials but also spaces for dialogue, learning, and cultural exchange.

LAKMNS’s involvement reflects its commitment to supporting educational growth alongside its welfare and religious responsibilities.

This partnership marks a step forward in strengthening institutional cooperation in Sarawak. By working together, LAKMNS and the Sarawak State Library are set to expand opportunities for knowledge acquisition and ensure that communities across the state benefit from accessible and inclusive educational resources.
