Laksamana Nelayan Rempit Dominates Sebuyau Regatta 2025

SEBUYAU – The Laksamana Nelayan Rempit Team demonstrated its dominance at the Sebuyau Regatta 2025, securing victory in two major categories during the opening races.

The team triumphed in both the Bidar 25 and Bidar 15 Men’s A Screening events held on Friday evening.

The competition, which drew an estimated crowd of 1,000 spectators, created a vibrant atmosphere at the mouth of the Sebuyau River.

Otakyun Event 2026

The Saga Sebuyau 1 Team claimed the championship title in the Bidar 20 category, while the Bidar 10 category was won by the Puteri Khalifah 7 Team.

The Intan Terpilah Team also delivered a strong performance, finishing as runners-up in several main categories.

UDC Event 2026

The prize-giving ceremony was presided over by Ayurahman Bujang, the Sebuyau District Officer and Chairman of the regatta’s main committee.

In his address, he extended his gratitude to all competing teams and emphasised the importance of sustaining the spirit of sportsmanship and communal harmony fostered by the event.

As an annual tradition, the Sebuyau Regatta serves to strengthen community bonds within the district.

The event also plays a vital role in promoting traditional water sports, ensuring that the heritage of regatta racing is preserved for future generations.
