JULAU – The Julau District Lambuk Porridge Distribution Programme at Darul Hidayah Mosque showcased community unity and togetherness during Ramadan.
The event was officiated by Rolland Duat Jubin, who highlighted that such programmes brighten the Ramadan season while strengthening friendships and cooperation among residents.
“This programme is not just about sharing a meal to break the fast but also serves as a platform to strengthen relationships between SABERKAS Meluan members and the local population,” he said.
Dato Rolland joined SABERKAS members in distributing the bubur lambuk to attendees, demonstrating the value of direct engagement with the community. He noted that the initiative reflects a spirit of cooperation and inclusivity, transcending racial and religious boundaries.
The programme was supported by the Julau District Office, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Julau District, and other related agencies, ensuring smooth operations and highlighting the importance of collaboration in community efforts.
Volunteers prepared and packaged the porridge through a gotong-royong effort, reinforcing teamwork and strengthening bonds among participants.
Dato Rolland expressed hope that the tradition of distributing bubur lambuk would continue in the future, describing it as a meaningful way to foster unity and brotherhood during Ramadan. He added that initiatives like this remind communities of the importance of compassion and mutual support.
The programme in Julau demonstrated how simple acts of charity can bring people closer together, preserve cultural traditions, and underscore the role of local leaders and organisations in sustaining community spirit and volunteerism.
