LIMBANG: A 15-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being injured in a road accident here today, thanks to the swift response of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Limbang District.
According to Limbang District Civil Defence Officer, Bonnie Madisun, the incident occurred around 1.06pm when an emergency call was received at the District Operations Control Centre (PKOD). Following the alert, a team of APM personnel was immediately deployed to the location, situated about five kilometres from the control centre.
Upon arrival, the team was briefed by the complainant at the scene, who informed them that the victim was suffering from pain in his right hand. Initial medical checks were carried out before the teenager was quickly transported to hospital for further treatment.
Bonnie said the fast response reflected the department’s commitment to handling emergencies effectively and ensuring that victims receive immediate care.
“Our members acted according to procedures by stabilising the victim and ensuring he was safely taken to the hospital. We always prioritise the safety and well-being of the community in every operation,” he explained in a statement.
The case has once again highlighted the crucial role of the Civil Defence Force in providing frontline assistance during emergencies and accidents, especially in rural areas where access to immediate medical aid can sometimes be limited.
