LIMBANG – The Limbang Division Development Committee (DDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating strategic development in Limbang and Lawas, emphasising the importance of cross-agency coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time and benefit local communities.
The DDC Meeting No. 4/2025, chaired by Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan on Tuesday, brought together key technical agencies including the Public Works Department of Malaysia, Limbang Division Public Works Department, Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID), Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB), Limbang District Council, Lawas District Council, Land and Survey Department, and the Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA).
Discussions centred on the progress of physical development projects and strategic infrastructure needs across both districts.
Datuk Amar Awang Tengah stressed that agency commitment is vital to ensure projects are not only completed according to schedule but also deliver tangible improvements to the well-being of residents.
He urged agencies to enhance coordination, streamline reporting processes and promptly resolve technical challenges in the field to avoid delays.
“Approved projects must be implemented efficiently and have a direct impact on the people,” he said, underlining the government’s determination to drive holistic and balanced development in northern Sarawak.
The meeting reinforced the state government’s focus on ensuring that infrastructure projects – ranging from roads and water supply systems to drainage and public facilities – are executed effectively.
By strengthening collaboration among agencies, the DDC aims to accelerate progress and ensure that development in Limbang and Lawas keeps pace with the needs of the population.
The emphasis on coordination reflects Sarawak’s broader strategy of integrating resources and expertise across departments to deliver sustainable growth.
For residents of Limbang and Lawas, these efforts promise improved connectivity, better public services and enhanced quality of life.
