Lingga ADUN Offers One-Year Rental Aid to Fire Victims in Kampung Tengah

SRI AMAN – Lingga State Assemblywoman (ADUN) Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor has stepped forward to support families affected by a recent fire in Kampung Tengah by covering their house rent for one year.

During her visit to the Temporary Transfer Centre (PPS) at Dewan Seri Lemanak on Monday, Dayang Noorazah met with the fire victims, provided immediate relief assistance, and personally assessed their condition.

“I will fully cover the victims’ rent for the first six months, followed by the next six months, to ensure their welfare is maintained while they await the reconstruction of their homes,” she announced.

She emphasised that this initiative reflects a shared responsibility in ensuring that affected citizens are not left behind during difficult times.

The visit also included a discussion with relevant government agencies to formulate a long-term recovery strategy and assess additional support needed by the victims.

Residents expressed deep gratitude for the swift and compassionate response by the Lingga ADUN in helping them navigate the aftermath of the disaster.
