Lo Khere Chiang Attends Sarawak Day Reading Program at Desa Library

KUCHING – A Reading Encouragement Program was held in conjunction with the Sarawak Day celebration at Desa Library Taman Sri Permai, RPR Landeh, bringing together children, educators, and the local community in a vibrant and educational gathering.

The event was filled with joyful activities such as book reading sessions, science-themed games, and a prize presentation ceremony that highlighted the importance of literacy and knowledge. The presence of young students, dedicated teachers, and supportive parents made the program a lively and meaningful occasion.

Batu Kitang Assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang attended the event and lauded the efforts of the organisers for instilling a love of reading among the younger generation. He emphasised the value of nurturing curiosity through reading and community-based educational programs.

“This program not only inspires children to read but also strengthens community bonds and promotes pride in our Sarawakian identity,” said Lo. “We must continue supporting libraries and local initiatives that uplift education and unity.”

The event echoed Sarawak Day’s broader themes of cultural pride and future-focused growth. Lo Khere Chiang’s presence reflected the state leadership’s ongoing commitment to youth development and civic engagement.

All participants and winners were awarded small gifts as a token of appreciation, adding a layer of excitement to the program. Organisers expressed optimism in continuing such efforts to promote science, reading, and community spirit across Sarawak.
