“Firefighters used special rescue tools to free the driver who was later given emergency treatment by the EMRS team before being transported to the hospital,” said Law.

Two passengers in the lorry sustained minor injuries and were also treated at the scene before being sent to the hospital for further care. Fortunately, the driver of the Toyota Avanza escaped unhurt and was able to exit the vehicle safely.

JBPM confirmed that the rescue operation was carried out smoothly, with the scene later handed over to relevant authorities after ensuring the area was safe.

Other supporting agencies were also present to assist in managing the aftermath of the collision.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department took this opportunity to remind all road users to remain alert, follow traffic rules, and prioritise safety, especially during peak morning hours.
