Lorry Crash in Bintulu Claims Life of Indonesian Driver

BINTULU: A tragic accident occurred in Kidurong this evening when a three-tonne lorry skidded off the road and crashed into a tree, resulting in the death of its driver.

The victim, identified as Muhamad Arif, 50, an Indonesian national, was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical team from the Ministry of Health (MOH).

According to a spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Centre, they received an emergency call at 4.30 PM regarding the accident. A team from the Kidurong Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately deployed to the location near Daiken Factory, Kidurong.

<strong>Driver Trapped in Wreckage</strong>

Upon arrival, rescue teams discovered that the lorry had veered off the road and collided with a tree. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicle, leaving the driver trapped in the driver’s seat.

“Emergency responders used special rescue equipment to extricate the victim from the wreckage,” said a JBPM spokesperson. Unfortunately, Muhamad Arif did not survive the crash.

Once the victim was removed from the vehicle, his body was handed over to the police for further investigation and action.
